Responsibilities and Procedures

If the student is not satisfied with the response from the department, the student may initiate a written complaint (via electronic form or paper).  A complaint reported by telephone or voicemail will not be considered as submitted for review.

The written student complaint should include a full description of the following:

Contact Information:

  • student’s full legal name;
  • College of Charleston CWID;
  • preferred email address;
  • telephone number;
  • indicator of preferred way to be contacted; and
  • best time to be contacted.

Complaint Information:

  • a description of the complaint;
  • the individuals involved;
  • how the student has been impacted; and
  • the resolution or action requested by the student.

The College will notify the student that the complaint has been received.  A student’s complaint will be forwarded to the appropriate office to best address the complaint.
